Every Child Belongs. Every Family Matters.

At Union Baptist, we believe church should be where every family feels welcome, loved, and supported, including families with special needs children. That’s why we’re launching Union Buddies, a ministry designed to provide one-on-one support for children with special needs during church services.

All About Union Buddies

👥 What Is Union Buddies?

Union Buddies pairs trained volunteers (our “Buddies”) with children who have special needs. This allows parents and caregivers to fully participate in worship, knowing their child is cared for in a safe, inclusive environment. Union Buddies is currently serving Children’s Church, aged children from 3 years old through 5th graders.

❤️ Interested in Volunteering?

Do you have a heart for helping kids with special needs? We’d love to have you serve as a Buddy! Training is provided.

🧸 How it Works:

  • Buddies are trained, background-checked volunteers. Children are matched with a consistent Buddy each week

  • Buddies assist during worship services, classes, or wherever support is needed

  • We work with families to understand each child’s needs and routines

  • Sensory tools, calm spaces, and personalized care are available

Your child will be accompanied by a Buddy in our normal children’s church classroom.

📅 When Is It Available?

Union Buddies will serve during the Sunday morning 8:45 worship service.

📄 How to Register:

To ensure the best care possible, we ask families to complete a brief information form. This helps us learn how to best support your child.
